So Happy Together by Olivia Worely

Came out June 3rd (UK)

This was a great mystery thriller, honestly didn't know what to expect while reading about Jane and her obvious obsession with Colin a man who broke up with her two months ago and she was still thinking of him and having tinder dates at the bar she knew he frequents just so he would see her and maybe be jealous, this of course leads to her seeing him on a date with Zoe, she ends up finding her tiktok and cyber stalks her a little in trying to find out why Colin is with her when he so meant be with her. A lie by Colin about who Jane is gives her a chance to meet Zoe properly and she finds her to nice funny and gets friendly with her even though she is trying to get Colin, but things get complicated when she ends up hooking up with his roommate but also Colin is get harassed by someone about something in his past. Jane in trying to get Colin find some things that make her wonder if she knew him.

This was such a great and gripping read, I love mysteries and thrillers and this was a excellent one. Honestly the theme of obsession also way the play Hamlet and the relationship of Ophelia and Hamlet mirrored Jane and Colin's. The Obsession Jane has for Colin seems so all encompassing and she does a lot of shady things to achieve her goal but is also torn and she does find herself liking Zoe but rationalizes that what she is doing is right if she gets Colin and  that Zoe will forgive her and still be her friend. But a Murder and some other stuff shatter her dreams. I also was surprised by the ending but love this book and definitely read more from this author and also buy this in audiobook form. Five ⭐

Murder Above Ground by Mike Ripley

Out September 2nd 2025

This was a great read , it's not out yet so will be light so as not to spoil anything.

The plot revolves around the book rights of a dead author called Duncan Torrens who died before the internet or eBooks was really a thing like they are today, this book has five narrators all are unreliable with ulterior motives, they are two murders that are separate by a Span of some 20 odd years in the course of the trying to obtain the book rights so they can become ebooks and maybe a TV show which would be a good money stream for whoever has them. Love mysteries and this was interesting as it was a crime fiction book about crime fiction that gave you a idea of how publishing was in the 90s when eBooks was in they infancy. I twigged to the twist near the end which normally I don't but still was so hooked into this story. Will buy this and maybe get it as audiobook too. Five ⭐
