These are some of the books I've read recently. Most are ARCs I got from Netgallery.

This is my first post and honestly just doing this for fun and just to share what I've read and listen to. Not a professional review just a girl who love to read a vary of things mostly mysteries, some horror and bit of non fiction.

My name isn't Paul Drew Huff - ARC four ⭐ a cosmic horror story that was very interesting and not usually in my sphere for reading or horror sub genres but I found it to be a great read.

How To Make A Killing Kate Weston - ARC five ⭐ a mystery set around a female run real estate agency and dealing with the murder of one of the real estate agents many turns and twists and love the relationships and issues.

The last two are a part of a series so will do them together as I got the ARC for the second book and was able to get the first off kindle as it had been on my TBR for a bit

The Dakota Green mysteries

The Beauty Queen's Guide to Murder and Mayhem - Kindle five ⭐

An Heiress's Guide to Death and Diamonds - ARC five ⭐

Dakota Green is a veterinary student who in the first book is still grieving her mother who died of cancer and has been helping at a stables in her hometown of Aubergine, having had to leave school to take care of her sick mother, after the mom dies she has arranged for letters to be sent to her each month with a task to stop Dakota from wallowing in grief. Well we get to the eleventh letter the task is to join a beauty queen pageant, which Dakota is dead set against but the prize money is something that would help with the bills ,she doesn't even need to come first as there is good money for runner up. So she set to just place. But stuff like her Aunt being accused of theft and potentially murder complicates matters. But Dakota is able to get her Aunt off the hook and even nabbed the crown to her own surprise.

The second one deals with a high school reunion, where a reality TV star is killed and we discovered he had a made some enemies and was not a good country boy as he made himself to be. Dakota would have rather been hooking up with the sheriff who may of may not be her boyfriend. But instead she has to find out who killed her classmate so as to get her best friend Lacy out of the suspect list while also juggling whether to take a fellowship, deal with a bombshell from her mother's last letter

A Scent of Murder by Carolina Dow ARC - Five ⭐ About a young woman. Who comes back to get hometown to be a professor of medieval literature and ends up getting tangled with the murder of a fellow colleague who she was just getting cozy with but ends up strangled with her scarf.. awkward 😬, she also ends up getting in touch with her ancestor from the other side along with her friends.

Murder On The Books by T.C. LoTempio ARC- Five ⭐ Another cozy about a returning to her hometown on this time it's a mystery author who is suffering burnout and thinks a change of scenery is the ticket. She decides to help her friend out by taking over the bookshop after the partner seems to ghost. Ends up involved in a murder mystery with a grumpy cop and a former popular girl turned cop. Gave murder she wrote vibes.

Etiquette for Lovers and Killers by Anna Fitzgerald Healy ARC- Five ⭐ This is a mystery set in the 60s in Maine, it centres on Billie McCadie a young woman who is bored in her small town and the seamstress job she is forced to take as she finding it hard to get job suited to her language degree. She spends most of her time reading gothic romances and still applying for jobs in the hopes of getting out, it's while checking her mail she finds a letter address to a Gertrude she reads it and finds a ring, the content are streamy. Also she gets invited by the son of the wealthy family that summers there, against her own judgment she goes and in the course bumps into said Gertrude from the letter but soon Gertrude is dead. Billie become almost obsessed in trying to find out who killed the mysterious woman. This book was such a fun ride and I didn't expect it to end as it did. This kinda of reminded me of the movie Laura in that a character becomes invested in a deceased female.

Meet the Kellys by Chris Enss Audiobook ARC- Five ⭐ Non-fiction This was a informative and engaging listen about Machine Gun Kelly and his wife Kathryn. It was such a great thing to hear about the kidnapping, aftermath and about everyone connected to them. Will definitely buy this and listen to anything else from this author. The narrator was very excellent.

Spooky Cocktails by Clair McLafferty ARC- Five ⭐ Drinks recipe book. I was very impressed by this book, the recipes and the pictures were great as well as the tips and variations were insightful. Honestly will definitely try to make some of these as look and sound delicious.

Who Killed Green Hope? by R.K. Syrus ARC- three ⭐This was okay but not as gripping as I thought it would be. It was a quick read but probably not something I would read, it was the cover that I was drawn to but I felt not as invested in reading it but it was a good read just didn't hook me.

I'm currently reading Death in Heels by Kitty Murphy and its shaping to be Five ⭐ I mean a murder mystery with Drag Queens how could it not be
