I got this as an ALC from booksprout.
The premise of this story is that four people are sent invites to an escape room in the chance of winning a big cash prize but also a threat of revealing a dark secret of theirs. Against the reluctance they feel but also the tempting idea of winning a large amount of money they decide to go through with the game which leads them to the island where they find out that their phones and watches stop working leaving them unaware of how much time has passed. Once the game starts they become aware that whoever has set it up knows all about them, their fears and past using it to push them past their limits also they are slowly getting hungry, thirsty and exhausted. This was such a twisty mystery thriller that gave me whiplash at times with how the twist came but in a way that was so good and gripped me. Five ⭐
